Day 4 - Tuesday - Clark's Retails Outlet at Street / Andrew and Harris walk the Mendips

The shoppers had a beano at Clark's Retail Outlet at Street ....

Just before the shopping spree started in earnest!

I just knew they'd overspend!
While Andrew had a relaxing day walking miles and miles with Harris in the Mendips ....

Crook Peak in the distance to the right of centre and Brent Knoll in the far distance on the left alongside the Bristol Channel

A forlorn-looking Harris and a windswept bush

Jacob's Ladder Mendip-style?

Hot tub time!

The rain soon cleared and the sun came out and the barbecue was followed by our first session in the hot tub ....

Andrew watches as the hot tub is commissioned ...

It all then started off in sedate fashion

And all was well until someone pressed the 'turbo' button!

Civilisation returned when the butler arrived with bubbly for the bubbly people!

It doesn't get much better than this ....!!

Barbecue time!

We decided it was time for our first barbecue ....

Andrew was first to pose by the barbecue ....

Meanwhile Harris was looking for someone to play ball ....

Then the team of chefs was boosted to two ....

Harris agreed to pose for a photo with anyone who looked likely to play ball with her ....

Dr Pepper!

Still waiting ....

As soon as the barbecue was over, yet another rain shower passed overhead ....

End of the pier and truffles!

We then went into Weston proper and had the obligatory ice cream by the pier!

On the way back home, some of us stopped off at the supermarket for food shopping while Chris, Sarah and Andrew went back to the house with the dogs.

When we were all back at base, Chris produced some truffles that he had rustled up while the food shopping was in progress ....

Jill's Garden, Weston-super-Mare

We went to see Jill Dando's garden in Grove Park, Weston.  Created by the BBC 'Ground Force' team, it celebrates the life of BBC news presenter Jill Dando, who was murdered on her own front doorstep in 1999 by an unknown assassin ....

We first visited the garden shortly after it was established and, sad to say, there were now clear signs of neglect.  The water feature looked to be in need of some TLC, there was graffiti on the woodwork of the pergola and the overall impression was one of slight untidiness.  Funny how we get sentimental about these things at the time, then the memory starts to fade and young people grow up who have no awareness of the person whose life is being commemorated .....
